Florida State vs Virginia Predictions and Picks

Florida State is presently rated 39th in passing yards, second in rushing yards, tied for second in total points scored, and 12th in points allowed. The Seminoles boast a powerful offense and one of the top rushing attacks in college football. This season, they have scored in every quarter, and they prefer to set the tone on offense early, leaving the rest to the defense. When they defeated Alabama, it was all about controlling the pace, establishing a lead, and expanding on it. This week's test involves playing in a hostile setting.

Virginia is ranked 20th in passing yards, 13th in rushing yards, sixth in points scored, and tied for 47th in points allowed. The Cavaliers have a powerful offense as well and have a history of upsets against highly ranked Florida teams. Virginia will make every effort to halt Florida State's rushing game. The Cavs can compete with the Seminoles' offense, but it tends to slow down in the second half. Virginia must protect the ball and maintain a high level of red zone performance.

Best Bet: Florida State Spread

The Seminoles began the season by defeating the highly ranked Crimson Tide by two scores, and the offense has continued to score easily since then. The defense is also doing its job, scoring zeros in several periods. Virginia has not been tested yet this season, and they were even defeated by NC State. The Cavs' defense will need to make some stops to gain momentum.
