The Tampa Bay Rays attempt to win the rubber match of their three-game series against the Chicago White Sox.
The Rays are 72-73 and are fourth in the American League East Division. They are five and a half games back of the final wild card berth, but they would need to get on a roll quickly and pass a couple of teams. For the time being, Tampa hopes to finish with a winning record. Both games in this series were one-run games, and in Game 2, the Rays were defeated by an early five-run inning. Junior Caminero led the offense with two singles, a home run, and two RBIs.
The White Sox are 56-90 and rank last in the American League Central Division. At this stage in the season, they want to prevent another 100-loss season, while also playing spoiler in some of these contests. Before this series began, the Sox were on a six-game winning streak and were finding ways to win one-run games. That theme has been maintained throughout the series, and in Game 2, leadoff hitter Mike Tauchman led the offense with two singles and two RBIs.

Rays vs White Sox Predictions and Picks
Tampa Bay is 34-37 on the road and 6-4 in its last 10 games. The Rays are ranked 14th in runs scored, eighth in batting average, 18th in on-base percentage, and 13th in slugging percentage. They are ranked 11th in ERA.
Yandy Diaz leads the team in batting average, and in Game 2, he had two hits, including a home run. Tampa will look for a better start in the finale and try to limit the big innings. On the mound for the Rays is Ian Seymour, who is 2-1, with a 2.89 ERA. He is a relief pitcher, but has been slowly stacking the innings up. In three straight starts, Seymour has given up one run or less.
Chicago is 31-43 at home and 8-2 in their last 10 games. The White Sox are 26th in runs scored, 27th in batting average, 27th in on-base percentage, and 27th in slugging percentage. They are ranked 20th in ERA.
Lenyn Sosa leads the team in batting average, home runs, and RBIs. In Game 2, he had a double and two RBIs. Chicago has been playing good ball in September, and they will look to tighten that bullpen up in Game 3. On the mound for the White Sox is Shane Smith, who is 5-7, with a 3.95 ERA. He has six quality starts this season and has been inconsistent in his last few outings.
Best Bet: Rays Moneyline
Both games in this series have been close, and early offense has been the deciding factor. Seymour has recently been pitching well, and Smith has had some excellent starts, but has been inconsistent. Tampa should be able to score early and set the tone against Smith, who can give up home runs in bunches.
