It was, by any definition, the best debut of any South Florida Bulls team in history. The USF Bulls stunned the visiting Boise State Broncos 34-7 behind a pummeling performance from linebacker Jhalyn Shuler's defense and 189 combined yards from receivers Chas Nimrod and Keshaun Singleton. Boise State's pass-rushers did not rattle USF's signal-caller, Byrum Brown, who has returned healthy in 2025.
Out of the frying pan, and into the fire. USF goes straight from its upset triumph over the top 25 to facing another potential CFP-caliber foe, when the Bulls visit the Florida Gators this Saturday at 4:15 p.m. EST.
Las Vegas does not think lightning will strike twice … even in Florida. Gainesville's iconic SEC team is an 18-point favorite over the AAC's upstarts from Tampa for a game with an O/U (54.5) point-total line.

USF Bulls at Florida Gators Predictions and Picks
The Florida Gators haven't been tested in spite of a 1-0 record. Last weekend's game was an academic 55-0 victory over the LIU Sharks of the FCS. With the Gators looking revitalized under coach Billy Napier and quarterback D.J. Lagway, speculators assume that home-field advantage will carry UF to a big win.
An overlooked angle is that USF's "home field" edge in Week 1 was really more of a home state edge. Boise State was unhappy in the hot, steamy conditions. You could have moved the game to Miami, given 30,000 Broncos fans tickets to the Orange Bowl, and USF would still have felt more comfortable than Boise State. The Bulls don't have to travel far to play the Gators in Week 2, and more importantly, conditions that caused a mismatch in Tampa won't bother either of the Sunshine State's foes.
Aiden Gallardo of Gators Wire writes, "If there's a trap-game vibe here, it's because USF has nothing to lose and everything to gain." But even he misses the larger point that after Week 1's revelation in Tampa, USF will be overjoyed to play in an SEC venue close to home. Take the scrappy Bulls to cover ATS.
