The Bounce House is primed to be buzzing tonight as UCF kicks off the Scott Frost 2.0 era with a season opener against Jacksonville State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, with coverage on ESPN+.
Frost, back on the sideline after seven years away, inherits a Knights roster loaded with newcomers. UCF (0-0) is a heavy favorite and carries the momentum of nine straight wins in season openers.
The Knights return just four starters from last year's 4-8 team, but replenished the depth chart with 63 new faces, including 36 transfers. Redshirt senior quarterback Cam Fancher, formerly of Marshall and FAU, will make his Knights debut. He brings more than 5,000 passing yards and 1,100 rushing yards from his prior stops and leads an offense that's expected to lean on experience in the backfield with Myles Montgomery and Jaden Nixon.
Jacksonville State (0-0), meanwhile, faces a steep climb after its own offseason of turnover. The Gamecocks lost their quarterback, star running back, their top receivers, and most of the defense that fueled last year's 9-5 season under Rich Rodriguez.
New head coach Charles Kelly arrives from Colorado, where he served as defensive coordinator, and inherits a roster with 51 new scholarship players. Senior quarterback Gavin Wimsatt, who previously spent time at Rutgers and Kentucky, will get the start behind center.

Jacksonville State vs UCF Predictions and Picks
"Jacksonville State lost their top QB, RB, WR, and TE on offense. They lost their top seven tacklers and top three corners on defense. They're basically starting from scratch post-Rich Rod, and I have a feeling Scott Frost will want to get off to a flying start to get people buzzing in the Bounce House again in his return to UCF, and things might get ugly quickly for the Gamecocks." — Robby Kalland, CBS Sports
"This should feel more like a celebration than a game. Frost's return, new quarterback, new year and, really, no expectations. Even with an overhauled roster, Big 12 member UCF should be able to big-boy Conference USA's Gamecocks and continue its winning streak in season openers. If that plays out, vibes will be off the charts for another week." — Chris Vinel, Daytona Beach News-Journal
"Scott Frost is back at UCF after his failed tenure at Nebraska and I can't help but think he wants to let out some frustration and lay it on somebody right away. Cam Fancher will start at QB, but I think both Jacurri Brown and Tayven Jackson will play. If that's the case, you'll get three experienced QBs instead of one or maybe two in a game with this sort of blowout expectation." — Adam Burke, VSiN
